RMPE is extensively involved in clinical research including multiple phase 3 and phase 4 trials in
long-acting growth hormone therapy and a
phase 4 trial in the metabolic bone disease hypophosphatasia.
Public Health and Education
Since 2016 in partnership with the Colorado Department of Public Health, RMPE provides the initial consultation for all babies in Colorado and Wyoming with an abnormal newborn screen in congenital hypothyroidism. We are also clinical preceptors for physician assistant students at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Maniatis lectures extensively both
nationally and internationally.

Pediatric Endocrinology
Pediatric endocrinology is a specialty that focuses on hormone disorders in children. We treat all endocrine conditions including disorders of growth, puberty, diabetes, thyroid gland, adrenal gland, and calcium. In addition to outpatient clinic visits, RMPE also sees inpatients at Rocky Mountain Hospital for Children. We offer Saturday hours, and we also speak Spanish, German, Japanese, and Greek.

There are several potential causes of poor growth and short stature. Non-hormone causes include poor nutrition and systemic illnesses like anemia, liver, or kidney disease.
